As many resources as possible should be spent directly on providing students with the support, materials, experiences, and learning opportunities that they need. Instead, millions of dollars are diverted to test implementation.

Great assessment is key to great teaching and learning. It is through assessment and observation that skilled teachers know how to craft the next learning experience. The PARCC test simply is not an accurate or valid measure and does not provide useful information for teaching and learning.
Teaching, learning and school should be engaging, joyful and invigorating for students and teachers. In this way, learning becomes a way of being. Instead, increased testing: increases anxiety, resentment, and a distaste for school.
Together, we can push back on the PARCC testing. We need to voice our concerns, and that's where you come in.

Providing a well-rounded, challenging learning experience for children in grades K-12 requires time and talented educators. Instead, schools are spending at least one fourth of their time on testing children.

The movement to end PARCC testing in Maryland.
Children and teachers have a right to opt out of a testing system that is killing public education and has no value.
Great schools are created through the development of collaborative, innovative, risk-taking professional environments where a culture of partnership, trust and aspiration prevails. High-stakes standardized testing has existed for a decade and, by its own measures, has shown no statistical improvement in American education while creating legions of schools that now limit education to ‘teach to a test’.
We are gathering together to push back on the PARCC testing.
